Ursuline Academy is proud to have a nationally-recognized Athletics Program that centers on the development of a well-balanced student-athlete. By instilling teamwork, dedication, and enthusiasm in your child, we strive to create student leaders on and off the field who excel academically and athletically, who support their team and coaches, and who serve as a role model of sportsmanship among teammates and competitors alike. With our record of excellence, we believe we have created the ideal environment for your child to thrive in the classroom and on the field.

At Ursuline, your child has the opportunity to participate in competitive sports starting in grade 3, where they can learn and practice athletic skills specific to their chosen sport. All of our students are encouraged to participate in sports without the pressures of mandatory requirements. We want to make sure your child has the opportunity to explore athletic interests and abilities in a comfortable and nurturing environment, which promotes a love of physical fitness and keeps the fun in organized sports. Your child can explore his or her athletic abilities, regardless of skill level or experience.

The Athletics program for grades 3-8 is run by the Ursuline Academy Athletic Association (UAAA), a volunteer board of parents and administrators that develops, supervises, and operates the athletic programs. UAAA strives to enrich the educational experience of student-athletes by providing them with opportunities to compete in a Christian, sportsmanlike, and wholesome manner.

In our Upper School, Ursuline is a member of the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) and offers 14 sports at the junior varsity and varsity levels, competing against both private and public schools in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Ursuline Athletics has an amazingly successful track record, having won 58 State Championships and 66 Catholic Conference titles across a variety of sports. Our program produces confident and courteous student-athletes who play for the love of the game and work to carry on the proud tradition of Ursuline Athletics.
