Summer at Ursuline

Make the most of your summer with us!

Summer at Ursuline combines enrichment classes with afternoon activities, serving both boys and girls from rising Kindergarten through rising 5th grade. Designed to serve as a complement to the school year, Summer at Ursuline reinforces and enhances student learning while maintaining a fun and engaging camp atmosphere.

Weekly Themes

Art & Design: June 12 – 16 & June 19 - 23

Let your creativity out this week as we team up with our very own art teacher, Mrs. Beck! Whether it’s painting or clay, indulge your inner artist and spend the week exploring mixed media art.

Building & Engineering: June 26 - 30

Put on your hard hat, engineer! Work with your friends to develop your critical thinking skills and team work as you plan, build, and test your designs around several engineering challenges, including our classic egg drop and bridge building experiments.

Summer Serviam: July 3 - 7

Take some time this week to think of others as we work on small service projects, character building activities, and random acts of kindness that help promote the Ursuline motto of Serviam: I will serve.

Fun with Forensics: July 10 - 14

Join the Summer Academy forensics force as we delve into the world of crime scene investigation. Collect, preserve, and analyze scientific evidence as we investigate isolated elements of forensic science. Campers will develop their inferencing and deductive reasoning skills while attempting to solve “whodunits” here at UA.

The Human Body: July 17 - 21

What happens when you take a deep breath? How do different foods react in our stomach? Spend the week diving into the depths of the human body with food science experiments, body part analogs, and health lessons.

 Water Water Everywhere: July 24 - 28

Cool down this week as we get wet! Whether we’re playing liquid limbo, excavating dinosaurs from icebergs, or testing homemade flavored water, campers will keep themselves busy while staying cool.

The Wonders of Weather: July 31 – August 4

How do you contain a tornado? Why do convection currents create thunderstorms? How can we use solar energy? Become a weather expert with our Summer Academy meteorologist in residence, Mr. Dougherty. Campers will be exposed to the wonders of our world’s wacky weather while conducting experiments, building weather-predicting devices, and honing their observation skills along the way.

Science & Discovery: August 7 - 11

Eureka! It’s time to embark on a scientific adventure at Ursuline! Campers will spend the week problem solving as we explore the scientific method, developing and testing experiments of all shapes and sizes.

Drama with The Child Drama Workshop: August 14 - 18

The Child Drama Workshop is back! Spend the week learning acting techniques including storytelling, improvisation, creative movement, and character building. End the week with the production of an original play, complete with professional direction, choreography, and makeup.
