Chuck is a registered architect and the Managing Principal of Homsey Architects in Wilmington. His career in architecture has included projects for many of our region’s institutions including Longwood Gardens, Winterthur Museum & Gardens, Hagley Museum & Library, The Grand Opera House, MBNA America/Bank of America, and Wilmington University, to name a few. Some of Homsey Architects’ more recent projects include The Queen Theater, the Community Education Building, the Knauer Performing Arts Center, and the Wilmington University Brandywine Campus. Homsey Architects has designed buildings for corporate, educational, institutional, ecclesiastical, and residential clients, and also has substantial experience in all of those markets with historic preservation.
Chuck and his wife, Linda, live in Brandywine Hundred and are the proud parents of three children, all of whom are Ursuline Academy alums. Gavin, an Ursuline and 2003 Salesianum alum, completed his undergraduate in Film education at Full Sail University. Carling is an Ursuline Upper School 2007 graduate, completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware, and graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s in Public Administration. Their youngest daughter, Chelsea, is an Ursuline Upper School 2009 graduate, completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware, and is currently attending the Tulane University School of Law.
Mr. Ryan credits the Ursuline Academy education and experience as a major contributor to the success of his children. For that reason, he has been giving back to Ursuline since 2006 as a member of the Buildings & Grounds Committee, joining the Board of Trustees in 2009, and currently serving as the Chair of the Building & Grounds Committee.
