Many thanks to Jennifer Glovier Saindon ‘95 for visiting with our 5th Grade Social Studies class to talk about her career with the US Census Bureau. She was excited to be back and presenting in the classroom where she took 8th grade French. Jennifer discussed the details of the upcoming 2020 Census on April 1st, and added that they have already started planning for the 2030 Census. Our students were filled with great questions, such as, “How do you calculate and count for people who are homeless?,” and “Do you count everyone, even if they aren’t citizens?” Yes, their goal is to include everyone, even…much to the the students’ surprise…those who live at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and receive their mail by donkey!
