FUSCO HALL STUDENT LIFE CENTER
Previously used as the main school building and convent, the building was completely renovated in 2019 with state-of-the-art teaching and learning spaces, an abundance of light, and open space, all while preserving the historical architecture of the building dating back to the early 1900s. The attention to detail in the renovations made this project one in which old meets new in an exquisite way that the entire Ursuline community can be proud of.
The atrium, which overlooks the Cool Spring Reservoir, is one of the most popular spaces in the building. The focal points are the handcrafted Global Map highlighting the locations of Ursuline Schools worldwide and Global clocks highlighting their time zones, in addition to a beautiful wood table crafted by Elena Delle Donne ’08.
Students can also be found in the UA Café during breaks and between classes. Architecturally, the library is the most historically significant and grand room in the building. As the former chapel, many of the original elements remain, including the stained glass windows, wooden beams, and balcony. The confessional rooms were turned into small group study rooms. The original confessional doors were moved to the new chapel.
Off-campus facilities include Serviam Field and the Lou Olivere Track, located on Route 141 next to Barley Mill Plaza.
