Christian Formation
Parents are the first and foremost teachers of their children academically and spiritually. Ursuline Academy provides an environment in which our students and faculty can continue to explore and deepen their relationship with God.
The religious nature of the Academy touches all aspects of our school program. Specific academic and personal religious instruction is conducted through Theology classes in all grades. Our age appropriate religious education program is sequential and emphasizes spiritual development, prayers, sacramental life, doctrine, moral development, and social justice with specific value placed on the importance of Serviam. All students, regardless of creed or religious affiliation, are required to complete the Theology requirements of Ursuline Academy and participate in all religious aspects of our Academy community.
Prayer
Each morning begins with prayer and provides our students a moment of quiet reflection before the start of the school day. Students, teachers, staff, and administration lead us as we bring our day’s work to the Lord and hold members of our Academy and global family in prayer. We embark on our day by calling upon our foundress:
St. Angela, watch over all our days.
St. Ursula, protect our future.
Students are invited to write and share prayers that reflect the events of the world around them. By actively participating in a prayerful life, we endeavor to instill the habit of prayer in the members of our school community and the recognition of the peace that comes with frequent conversation with God.
