Lower School

In the Lower School, the Intermediate Program completes several retreats throughout the year to reflect on various aspects ranging from friendship, study skills, and emotions. These retreats facilitate the young ladies to develop relationships outside the classroom and to uncover new and exciting talents.

Middle School

All Middle School students participate in an annual retreat designed to meet the unique needs of our Middle School community. This retreat experience provides an opportunity for the students to deepen their connection to Ursuline spirituality, build community among classmates, and connect to their faith.

Upper School

Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Class Retreats

All members of the Sophomore and Junior classes participate in an annual class retreat, and our Freshman class participates in two retreats. Facilitated by Senior Student Retreat Leaders, members of the Ursuline faculty, and local Catholic facilitators, these retreats provide students an opportunity to explore and deepen their faith and spiritual lives. Developmentally appropriate themes in conjunction with fostering a community among classmates at each retreat provide a meaningful and fun way for our students to connect to their faith and to each other. Retreat opportunities are an important aspect of Ursuline’s mission to empower students to be leaders who serve in our global society. For this reason, retreat participation throughout a student’s Upper School experience is mandatory.

Senior Class Retreat

Kairos, Greek for “God’s Time,” is a student-run spiritual retreat reserved for senior year. Seniors leave our campus to immerse themselves for three days in a unique retreat experience focusing on deepening their relationships with God, self, and classmates. Student leaders, joined by adult members of the Ursuline Community, lead the Senior Class in group and solitary activities in a tranquil setting far away from the daily distractions of life. It is a time of special bonding among the girls, and invariably, Kairos is one of the most powerful experiences of a student’s time at Ursuline and has positively impacted countless alumnae into adulthood. Experience has taught us that this retreat is at its most powerful when the whole of the senior class participates. Participation in the Kairos Retreat is a requirement for graduation from Ursuline Academy.

Senior Retreat Leadership Team

Seniors plan and lead the Kairos Retreat. During the retreat, members of the Junior Class are mentored by Senior Retreat Leaders in preparation for their role as members of their own Senior Class Retreat Team. Senior leaders continue their service by acting as retreat leaders during Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Class Retreats.
