Increasing our endowment is vital to the health and well-being of the Academy. A sizable endowment will enhance the ability of Ursuline Academy to attract and keep the most qualified applicants while increasing socioeconomic diversity in the student body.
Also, to attract and retain outstanding faculty, we must build an endowment that will help keep teachers’ salaries competitive with compensation comparable to institutions nationwide and also support professional development.
Gifts of any size may be made to the endowment. A permanent, named endowment fund may be created at Ursuline through a minimum gift of $50,000. With each endowment gift, once principal is invested, a portion of the income becomes available each year to support faculty, scholarships, the library, student programs, and other areas. Unrestricted endowment gifts give Ursuline the flexibility to allocate funds to meet the greatest, most pressing needs.
Named endowments provide a way to celebrate the lives of generous donors, their families or friends, or any special group, forever linking their names to the life and purpose of Ursuline Academy. The Academy encourages gifts to the endowment “in honor of” or “in memory of” a family or special loved one through a variety of naming opportunities, although the names of current students or teachers are excluded. Naming opportunities may include current family names such as The Jones Family Endowment. All naming opportunities are subject to Trustee approval.
