Sheila Grant is an Ursuline alumna from the Class of 2004. She went on to major in American Studies at Georgetown University. After college, Sheila worked as a teacher with Americorps at Nativity Prep in Wilmington. She then moved back to Washington and served in policy and communications roles for then-Senator Carper and then-Congressman Carney, eventually serving as Congressman Carney's chief of staff. She received her Master's degree in Public Management from Johns Hopkins University while working full-time in Congress. Sheila then returned to Delaware and served as chief of staff to then-Governor Carney, helping manage the state's response to the pandemic. She returned to Washington to work at the White House as a Deputy Assistant to the President, first as a speechwriter for President Biden, then as a liaison to the President's Cabinet, and finally as the senior advisor to the Deputy Chief of Staff. Sheila is currently serving as a Lecturer in the MBA program at The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, she serves as an independent consultant for private sector and non-profit clients, while doing freelance work as a speechwriter and ghostwriter.
