David Plaza

David Plaza is currently a Managing Director, Wealth Management Advisor within Merrill Lynch’s Global Wealth and Investment Management Division. David is the senior member of a five member advisory team that serves the wealth management needs of affluent families, senior corporate executives, business owners and tax-exempt organizations in the Wilmington, Delaware and surrounding metro Philadelphia area. He has extensive experience developing comprehensive wealth strategies with a detailed planning process for high-net worth clients that includes core asset management, retirement and estate planning, concentrated stock, risk management and monetization strategies, non-traditional alternative investments and specialized lending.

 

David holds both the Certified Financial Planner and Certified Private Wealth Advisor designations and is a member of the prestigious Merrill Lynch Circle of Champions Club.

 

He began his career in the financial services industry in 1986 and joined Merrill Lynch in Wilmington, Delaware in 1989 as a Senior Financial Advisor.  David is active in his community, volunteering and serving in leadership roles in many organizations including member of the Board of Trustees for Ursuline Academy School for Girls, Board Member and Treasurer for the Wilmington Rotary from which he received the Paul Harris Fellow award in recognition of his dedication, member of the Board of Trustees for the Philadelphia Film Society and Board Member of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra. He is also a former board member of the Art Consortium of Delaware and former President and Founder of the Wilmington Business Group.

 

David received his undergraduate education in Finance from Drexel University. David was born in Philadelphia; currently resides in Wilmington, Delaware with his wife Mihaela. He is the proud father of three daughters Aubrey, Natalie, and Renee (all Ursuline Academy alums) and two thriving rescue dogs: Troy and Lola. In his spare time he enjoys sailing, mountain biking, and skiing.
